How I Work.

I am a somatic-focused art therapist who guides individuals in (re)discovering the creative self and (re)connecting with the body's wisdom.

My approach is relational, somatic, and experiential, supporting the integration of body and mind through the creative process. I guide my clients in navigating emotional challenges, trauma, and personal growth journeys.

I love supporting women and men who are navigating parenthood, relationships, and trauma, and are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, sad, or lost.

In sessions, I work to foster a safe and non-judgmental space where you can freely explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences through art. You may use painting, drawing, collage, or sculpture in support of integration of mind and body, and for deeper self expression, understanding, and healing. Through the creative process, you may discover new insights, develop coping skills, and find healing and empowerment.

I am also holistic in my approach to healing. I believe that individuals are multifaceted beings whose mental and emotional health can be influenced by various factors, including lifestyle, relationships, environment, and spirituality.

background & experience

I am a Board Certified Art Therapist and a Licensed Clinical Professional Art Therapist in the state of Maryland. I completed my Art Therapy training at the George Washington University. In addition to art therapy, I am also a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland.  I am trained in Somatic Experiencing (Intermediate) and Brainspotting (Phase 1). I am a past member (and board member) of the Potomac Art Therapy Association and a current member of the American Art Therapy Association.  My work is informed and supported by my continued learning and research in art therapy, somatic work, trauma treatment, polyvagal theory, Brainspotting, holistic care, nature/eco therapy, and more. I am very passionate about learning and growing as a clinician and am constantly looking for ways to expand and enhance what I can offer to my clients. I have experience supporting adolescents and adults facing challenges such as anxiety, self-esteem, depression, bipolar,  dissociation, trauma, PTSD, substance use/abuse, peer and family relationship issues, perinatal mental health, and grief/loss. Beyond clinical work, I am also passionate about advocacy and education in the field of art therapy. I am available to conduct workshops, and training sessions to raise awareness about the benefits of art therapy and promote its integration into mainstream healthcare and education systems.
